| Event Info/Notes: | Friday September 25th 2009 Meg Okura's Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble 7:00pm "World and New York premiere of works by two cross cultural composers, Sam Newsome and Meg Okura. The evening will open with works from Newsome's new album, BLUE SOLILOQUY, a collection of blues-inspired original compositions for solo saxophone, forging new areas of the instrument's sonic terrain. Followed by the suite "Lu Chai" by Okura, inspired by a Tang Dynasty poem of the same title, incorporating erhu, shinobue, world percussion, and piano trio, performed by the Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble." |
