RUMI SUITE is a deeply spiritual and musically rich tribute to the timeless poetry of 13th-century mystic Jalaluddin Rumi—one of the most universally celebrated poets in human history. Featuring newly composed music by Zülfü Livaneli, arranged by Henning Schmiedt, and performed by a globally diverse ensemble, the project is a powerful expression of unity through art.

The compositions are inspired by Rumi’s message of unconditional love, radical empathy, and transcendent peace, forming a musical dialogue that spans continents, languages, and belief systems. Each piece is delivered with emotional depth and cultural sensitivity, creating a sonic space where differences dissolve and the human spirit resonates.

What makes RUMI SUITE truly distinctive is its multi-faith, multi-national ensemble—Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and secular artists from Turkey, the Balkans, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States—who come together not just to perform, but to embody the values of peace, coexistence, and shared humanity.

Bringing four master musicians including Serkan Çağrı, Tuluğ Tırpan, Mehmet Akatay and Mehmet Özen under one roof, Homeland is proof of a musical mosaic. The seven-track album is beyond an album; it symbolizes an emotion, a story and a journey.

“Dor de Sodade”, is a Cape Verdean morna-style song associated with themes of longing, heartbreak, and emotional nostalgia. It was written by the renowned composer B.Leza, one of the most influential composers in Cape Verdean traditional music, specifically Morna.

It translates roughly to “pain of longing” or “pain of saudade,” a deep emotional state that combines homesickness, lost love melancholy, and childhood memories.The lyrics describe someone carrying a profound pain inside the chest, unable to hide feelings of sadness, emotional loneliness and longing. Literally translates the classic Cape Verdean feeling of separation caused by migration and distance.

The project was conceived by Fantcha and Stephan Almeida, her musical producer, and Martin Rose. It also, brought together some legendary like Rufino Almeida/aka Bau , Toi Vieira Humberto Ramos , and new generation Stephan Almeida , Samuel Cruz , and Antonio Barbosa musicians, each one showcasing and displaying musical excellence and exceptional musicianship.
