Description

BARAKKA

Barakka is a Philadelphia-based, multi-national, multi-ethnic band led by singer/guitarist and Istanbul native Barış Kaya. The band blends Turkish folk rock and Anadolu rock, mixing Eastern and Western instrumentation, a style pioneered by artists like Barış Manço and Erkin Koray. Their music derives its unique sound from melding traditional Turkish and Middle Eastern music with original compositions.

YALLAH YALLAH

Yallah Yallah is a musical project that pays homage to ’80s drum machine-based Middle Eastern pop. Guitarists Amit Peled of Habbina Habbina and Segev Harosh collaborate to capture the harmonized guitar parts characteristic of classic records from that era, adding keyboards, live percussion, and utilizing an Alesis SR-16 drum machine, which was omnipresent in the original ’80s recordings.
