🎶 Ahmed Moneka opens the night, blending Iraqi maqam, jazz, and Afro-Iraqi rhythms to deliver a powerful, emotionally rich performance that bridges cultures and histories.

NY Gypsy All-Stars : 9PM

🎶 Then, the world-class NY Gypsy All Stars take the stage with their signature blend of Balkan, Turkish, and jazz influences, turning tradition into an exhilarating jam session!

AHMED MONEKA

Ahmed Moneka is a multifaceted Iraqi-Canadian artist renowned for his work in acting, music, and writing. Born in Baghdad, he studied at the Institute of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts, becoming the youngest member of the Iraqi National Theater and the first Black Iraqi to host a television program. Moneka’s artistic journey led him to co-found the band Moskitto Bar and create Moneka Arabic Jazz, blending Afro-Iraqi heritage with jazz influences.

NY GYPSY ALL-STARS

NY Gypsy All-Stars is a dynamic ensemble that masterfully fuses Balkan Gypsy traditions with contemporary jazz, funk, and bhangra rhythms. Comprised of classically trained virtuosos from prestigious conservatories, the band effortlessly transitions between various musical genres. Their performances are celebrated for their sophisticated and high-energy mix, embodying the true spirit of their Gypsy namesakes.
