Description
Henri Herbert is a piano playing phenomenon and one of the most sought after blues and boogie players in the world. Henri performs a timeless show of original songs and covers featuring piano and vocals inspired by the great American blues pianists of the 20th century, not only keeping this unique form of American music alive and well, but also advancing it forward. Born in France and raised in the UK, Henri was drawn at an early age to records made by the piano-pounding pioneers Jerry Lee Lewis and Albert Ammons. He cut his musical teeth performing all over Europe before joining the mighty Jim Jones Revue (JJR) in 2011. As a member of JJR, Henri completed several world tours at iconic festivals and shows such as Glastonbury and Rock En Seine, along with a memorable performance on hit American TV show, The Late Show with David Letterman. In 2014, JJR disbanded. Henri launched a solo career immediately thereafter regularly touring Europe and America and recording a series of boogie and blues piano albums including his standout “Boogie Woogie Piano” record. Henri also maintains his affinity for rock n roll releasing albums and doing occasional tours with his rockabilly trio, “Henri Herbert and The Fury,” whose sound and energy are well captured on the trio’s pedal-to-the-metal concert album “Live at Gypsy Hotel.” In March 2019, Henri moved to Austin, Texas where he currently resides Henri is a proven, solo draw with past tours across Europe, USA and Canada.
