Description

ZenHow is a Chinese-born, New York–based artist blending Hip-hop, Jazz, and traditional Chinese instrumentation into a sound that is both global and deeply personal. A violinist, MC, singer-songwriter, producer, and storyteller, he reclaims the phrase “The Sick Man of the East” as both a meditation on history and a declaration of strength — transforming past wounds into modern artistry. His music moves between smoky jazz clubs and street cyphers, between Shanghai nostalgia and Brooklyn grit. Whether weaving pipa and guzheng into rap narratives, or layering heartfelt vocals over live saxophone solos, ZenHow’s work captures the beauty of contradiction: vulnerability and power, tradition and innovation, East and West.

At its core, his artistry is about connection — love, growth, and courage on the path of becoming. With every track, he invites listeners to join him on that journey.
