Description
Composer and producer Julian Silva founded La Excelencia in 2005 in New York City. Made up of 12 band members, their music takes on the stylings of salsa dura, which originally developed in the 70s and primarily focused on instrumentals. They’ve greatly influenced the curation world in film, television, and media. Their songs have appeared in major motion pictures and popular TV shows, and collaborations include MTV, A&E, and Lifetime. In 2024, La Excelencia performed a celebratory show at Carnegie Hall.
