Magnificent Danger

DiscoCactus

DiscoCactus is a collective of arrangers, composers and performers that plays video game music…sort of. They use video game soundtracks as a jumping off point for a musical party – a nonstop display of kinetic musicianship that blends contemporary art music with dozens of pop styles, steeped in the language of the Internet. Established in 2014, the band’s core is made of six game audio professionals that serve as the primary arrangers and performing mainstays. Each member is a world-class performer in their own right, having studied at some of the world’s top conservatories. You’ve heard some of them in games like Celeste, Destiny 2, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, and Final Fantasy XV. You’ve heard SEVERAL of them in Mortal Kombat 11 and the already-cult-classic Nightmare Kart.

When it’s time to play as DiscoCactus, these six performers form like Voltron, bringing all of their experience and power down on one glorious purpose: To make you shake your ass. You don’t have to know a thing about video game music to enjoy DiscoCactus. You don’t even have to know a thing about music! You just need to strap in for a rollicking, avant-garde nerd carnival.

Maxo

Maxo has been a major player and pioneer in many music communities for over a decade, and is known best for works including the acclaimed Chordslayer EP & website, their influential LEVEL MUSIC project, contributions to popular indie games, Celeste and Spin Rhythm XD, and their most recent soundtrack for Netflix’s interactive series, Battle Kitty.

Maxo has garnered attention with their brand of detailed, jazz-influenced electronic music and played frequent live sets in and around New York. They have since released both original and remixed music under a diverse variety of labels & imprints including PC Music, NHX, Maltine Records, TREKKIE TRAX, Brainfeeder, Record Record, DESKPOP, ubiktune, and more. This music has brought Maxo to stages around the world, from a Boiler Room set at 2015’s SXSW to multiple tours in Japan, South Korea, and various cities in the US and Canada. In line with their success as an independent musician, Max has been able to explore a variety of scoring opportunities, from more intimate personal projects all the way to hit indie-game soundtracks and full-scale animation scoring.
