DOORS: 6:30 PM | SHOW: 7:00 PM

Join us at Drom on September 17 for the album release concert of Rumi Suite, Zülfü Livaneli’s newly recorded tribute to the timeless poetry of Jalaluddin Rumi—featuring Livaneli’s original compositions arranged by Henning Schmiedt. Performed by the globally diverse One Sound Ensemble (featuring world-class artists such as oud master Ara Dinkjian, clarinetist İsmail Lumanovski, kanun virtuoso Tamer Pınarbaşı, bassist Panagiotis Andreou, drummer Engin Kaan Günaydın, and pianist Marius van der Brink), this multi-faith, multi-national collective embodies the project’s mission of peace, unity, and shared humanity.

The night also showcases the compelling vocal talents of Tamara Jokic, whose fierce and intimate delivery bridges tradition and modernity, and Mona Miari, the acclaimed Palestinian‑American singer-songwriter known for melding Levantine heritage with global influences.

This performance is more than a concert—it’s a transcendent gathering where art blurs borders, cultures converge, and Rumi’s message of unconditional love, radical empathy, and transcendent peace is brought to life through deeply emotive, cross-cultural musical dialogue.

Livaneli’s Rumi Suite

A Global Music Project of Peace, Poetry, and Unity

RUMI SUITE is a deeply spiritual and musically rich tribute to the timeless poetry of 13th-century mystic Jalaluddin Rumi—one of the most universally celebrated poets in human history. Featuring newly composed music by Zülfü Livaneli, arranged by Henning Schmiedt, and performed by a globally diverse ensemble, the project is a powerful expression of unity through art.

The compositions are inspired by Rumi’s message of unconditional love, radical empathy, and transcendent peace, forming a musical dialogue that spans continents, languages, and belief systems. Each piece is delivered with emotional depth and cultural sensitivity, creating a sonic space where differences dissolve and the human spirit resonates.

What makes RUMI SUITE truly distinctive is its multi-faith, multi-national ensemble—Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and secular artists from Turkey, the Balkans, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States—who come together not just to perform, but to embody the values of peace, coexistence, and shared humanity.
