Sofia Ribeiro is one of the greatest voices from Portugal, a magnificent singer who has the ability to immediately attract the listener to her unique musical universe. With a solid background in jazz studies, a deep connection to Portuguese traditional music – Fado – and endless hours of listening to Brazilian legendary musicians, Sofia’s artistry challenges the boundaries of music labels. She has won several international jazz prizes, taught alongside ten-time grammy award winner Bobby McFerrin at Omega Institute and was an artist in residence at the Carnegie Hall, New York City. Well-known for her strong, emotional and uplifting performances where she enthusiastically tells stories about the songs and often invites the audience to sing, Sofia Ribeiro has been captivating listeners all over the world with her warm and powerful sound. She will be releasing her new album “CASA”, which was created during the quarantine, with all the musicians recording from their homes in several parts of the world.
