He wants to be the pioneer introducing Turkish music to the world. In concerts which he shared the stage with Gino Castelli, Anjelika Akbar, Alessandro Safina,AI Bano Carrisi, Patrizio Buanne, Michael Bolton and Emma Shapplin; he built bridges to other lands’ music from his own.

Ferhat Gocer, graduate of Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and The State Conservatoire, Department of Singing; has worked for the State Opera and Ballet for two years, before moving to Sanliurfa in order to fulfill his mandatory medicine service.

As he returned to Istanbul to work as a surgeon at the Haydarpasa hospital, Ferhat Gocer had a new goal in music: combining Turkish music with his classical background and introducing it to the world. Today he is still following this goal and continuing his medical practice.

Ferhat Gocer is an extraordinary musician; his repertory extends to many different musical styles and genres, including Opera, Napolitan, Chanson, Rembetico, Turkish Folk and Classics and nostalgic hits; among others.

The Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, founded by Ferhat Gocer, is the first and only private orchestra of Turkey and accompanied the artist at many sold out concerts, The first album, simply titled ‘Ferhat Gocer’, was released on the October of 2005 and spent 14 weeks at the top of the charts, selling more than 300,000 copies, The album won many awards, including “Diamond” from MUYAP, an award reserved only for the best selling albums of Turkey, Ferhat Gocer’s second album, ‘Yolun Açık Olsun (2007), third album ‘Çok Sevdim İkimizi (2009), fourth album ‘Biz Aşkımıza Bakalım’ (2010), ‘Seni Sevmeye Aşığım’ (2011) and ‘Kalbe Kiralık Aşklar’ (2013) met its audience and received the same success, in 2015 ‘Sığmıyorsun Geceye ve Zamana’ and now the last album ‘Bu Kalp İçinde Teksin’ is on the stores.

Gocer’s primary objective is the meeting of Anatolian melodies with the universally accepted symphonic music to expose the wholeness of different genres. His ‘Anadolu Aryaları (The Anatolian Arias) project has traveled many cities from Istanbul to Diyarbakir, Izmir to Gaziantep, Ferhat Gocer plans to develop this approach at Anatolia before presenting it to foreign countries, Ferhat Gocer joined forces with one of Turkey’s significant artists, Omer Faruk Tekbilek in the summer of 2004 for the ‘Mood Nights’ project and ‘A tribute to Sinatra’ concert with Michael Bolton in 2009 which have been memorized as one of the milestones of his career. Another important project from Ferhat Gocer was ‘Beyaz Perde Ezgileri’ (Melodies from the Silver Screen); in which he sang selected works from well known soundtracks, with visual aid of short clips from the movies.
