Khondzi is a Brooklyn based saxophone player and composer from Tbilisi, Georgia. His music is a fusion of Jazz, Funk, Folk, and Ancient Trance Dance Music. He honed his craft with years of practice and experimentation with his colleagues and studied at some of the most prestigious musical institutions like the Berklee College of Music and School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the New School. Khondzi has performed at venues and festivals such as NYC Winter JazzFest, Nublu, Birdland, Black Sea Jazz Festival, Tbilisi Jazz Festival, Klaipeda Jazz Festival, Saulkrasti Jazz Fest, etc. He has toured internationally with some of the biggest Georgian artists like Nino Katamadze, Stephane, Dato Evgenidze and Salio.
Benjamin Furman is a NY based Chilean pianist, singer-songwriter, and composer. His music draws from the deep wells of South American folk traditions, Jazz, and North American Folk. Holding many of these traditions within his own identity, the music doesn’t disrupt, but rather pays a loving and honest tribute to these traditions. Inspirations as varied as Carlos Aguirre, Keith Jarrett, Ivan Lins and Leonard Cohen, shine proudly through his own original poems and compositions.
Upon graduating from Berklee College of Music in Jazz Piano Performance and Jazz Composition, Furman has toured South America and Europe as both a bandleader and a sideman for multiple NY based projects. His single “Felina” won first place in the USA Songwriting Competition in the World Music category.
His NY group includes an international array of world class musicians: Shai Yuval (drums), Tal Mashiach (guitar), Sebastián de Urquiza (bass), Yotam Ben-Or (harmonica/percussion), and Khondzi (saxophone), as well as often featuring other special guests.
